Linda Gorham –Nationally known, award-winning storyteller and speaker, Linda inspires her audiences

by using movement, humor, and sometimes zaniness as

she tells imaginative folktales and personal tales        updated with "attitude."  Linda has been telling stories

that amuse, stimulate and make you laugh out loud for  over 18 years.

Pippa White- Pippa White is in her fourteenth year as a solo performer. She calls her One's Company Productions "part theatre, part storytelling, part history." Audiences call the unique, captivating, and touching. She has toured in 27 states. For eight consecutive years, she has been featured at the Civic  Center of Greater Des Moines in their Applause Program, the only artist with this distinction. Before doing solo work, she had an extensive background in theatre and television on the West Coast, including five years hosting a daily morning television show on ABC in San Francisco.

Kevin Strauss - Nature author and storyteller

Kevin Strauss weaves nature stories and wisdom

tales from around the world. Energetic and dynamic, Kevin tells stories that grab his audiences and help them to look at the world in a new way. Kevin's stories bring the natural world to life for listeners. His programs help people to reconnect with the natural world and with each other.

Darren Raleigh- Darren is a Celtic Bard to the modern world.

He brings the Celtic harp, his voice, and his store of songs, poems, and stories drawn from ancient myths and folktales to entertain, and inspire. He’s a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists, and he’s appeared in movies, radio commercials, provided character voices for computer games, and done

stand-up comedy.

 

Eugene Fracek- Eugene is a Native American storyteller from Des Moines. He was born on the Rosebud Indian Reservation and grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota where he is still a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe (Dakota). He is currently the elementary school Principal of Studebaker Elementary, in  Des Moines and also an Adjunct instructor at Simpson College where he teaches “Indians of America.” Mr. Fracek titles his introductory sessions: What’s New, Since 1492. Information on American Indian Tribal culture, history, and issues are shared through story, song, picture, and display items.

Dr. Frances Bartlett Kinne– Dr. Frances Bartlett Kinne, a Story City native, received undergraduate and graduates degrees from Drake University and her PhD from the University of Frankfurt, where she was the first American to be awarded a doctorate after World War II.  Dr. Kinne is also noted as the first woman university president in Florida.  She also has five honorary doctorates and was the fist woman elected president of the International Council of Fine Arts.  Her adventures have taken her all over the world, including China, Japan, and Germany.  Dr. Kinne will share memories and her piano music at the Bartlett Museum on Saturday.
